Our Quest Lab photographer spotlight this time is Netherlands-based photographer Suzanne Pijnenburg Fotografie, whose use of light and incredible attention to detail leaves us breathless when we look at her images! Suzanne is a Sony photographer capturing families, weddings, and couples.
“Ever since I became a member of Archipelago Quest I have been using nothing but these versatile presets. When, after a while, I had too many and wanted to stop my membership for a while, they extended their offered presets with all these super useful tools. Definitely worth the money, since they have sped up my workflow and improved the quality of my images massively. As a result, I am still a happy member looking forward to every release!”

We caught up with Suzanne about her inspiration, tips, and favorite gear!
What or who inspires your photography?
Change of seasons… Movies, f.e. The Tree of Life. My favorite photographer is Sally Mann. Love her Immediate Family portraits and they've been a source of inspiration for all of my family portraits.
What’s your favorite bit of gear and why?
My Sony a7III and the Tamron 28-75 have been my go-to gear ever since I bought them. I shoot with a second Sony and some prime lenses, but 80% of my pictures are made with the 28-75. I love how it gives me the freedom to switch fast between close up and wide angle compositions, while speed is key when you photograph children and weddings mostly like I do.

What’s your favorite photography tip?
Keep playing. Remember how much fun it was to take your very first photos. After 18 years in the field I still challenge myself often to do something completely different. Try another editing style, another genre or anything out of my comfort zone, for it teaches me a lot and it keeps me inspired at the same time.
