Our Quest Lab photographer spotlight is Dorset-based wedding photographer Ben Braybrooke. Ben’s incredible LXCV-edited and Nikon-photographed wedding photos always catch our eye in the Archipelago Collective, and we asked him a few questions about his work!

“I am absolutely in love with the Quest set LXCv! For me it is absolutely perfect for my wedding photography and many other photographers have said how beautiful my edits are which is amazing to hear! Firstly as with all LXC sets it is very diverse and has a gorgeous range of tones. For years I have been chasing a true to life look but with that artistic and stylised look which LXCv offers and I finally feel like I have found the look I am after! The creamy highlights and velvet shadows give the images a really unique look with the click of a button, such a gorgeous contast! The skin tones are absolutely stunning too, they offer warmth to the skin tones without over saturating them. I have been a Quest member since the beginning of 2025 but LXCv is my favourite release so far, but I am so excited to try new sets as they come out which can expand my creativity.”

We caught up with Ben about his inspiration, tips, and favorite gear!

What or who inspires your photography?

Beautiful light!

What’s your favorite bit of gear and why?

My 50mm 1.8! It is the lens I use in most of my work. I love how razor sharp it is at 1.8 and the bokeh is gorgeous! Paired with my Nikon Z8 they make a beautiful team! It is also very lightweight!

What’s your favorite photography tip?

Always prioritise good lighting, I always try to set up a photo for good light before I start taking photos. If it's a really harsh sunny day, 95% of the time there is a good shady spot. If there is no shade quite often you can find a spot where there light is bouncing off a light surface such as a marquee or a stone patio and it bounces back really nice light to your subjects.
