The tenth installment of Quest brings a fresh perspective on the nostalgic film tones you already know and love. ExFilm SE steps into the darkroom with three color presets, a distinctive new black and white, and a creative profile that emulates the development process itself - pushing film for more contrast and a grittier look, or pulling it for softer results with less contrast, saturation, and clarity. From soft sage greens and dusky blues to sunshine yellows and velvet reds, each variation carries that lived-in analog character, with an Expired Film Tone preset on hand to lend the crushed tonality of a roll left too long.

What's in the set
Four variations and the darkroom
Pull / Push Profile Emulates the development process of pushing or pulling film. Pushing introduces more contrast for a grittier look, while pulling produces softer results with less contrast, saturation, and clarity.
ExFilm SE 01 Soft sage greens, warm sorrel hues throughout, and muted, dusky blues.
ExFilm SE 02 Sunshine yellows and velvet reds contrast against rich royal blues.
ExFilm SE 03 Taupe undertones with subtle magenta highlights, natural reds, and subdued blues.
ExFilm SE 04 Contrasty black and white with distinctive highlights and a subtle yellow-green tone.
Expired Film Tone Replicates the crushed tonality that often occurs with expired film - the look of a roll left too long, layered over any of the presets.
Pushed Grain Adds the grittier grain texture of pushed film, layering on contrast and analog character.
Pulled Grain A softer grain that echoes pulled film - gentler texture for a cleaner, more subdued finish.

"As someone whose love affair with Archipelago began with ExFilm I cannot even begin to express how happy the release of Quest 10 makes me!! I am a total sucker for nostalgic film vibes and I love that this set brings a new life to an old favourite. This set has such beautiful tones that are so versatile and work in a variety of locations from the rainforest to the beach and indoors! I am obsessed with the greens and the subtle magenta highlights which give those golden hour fairy floss skies an extra little pop! The pull/push feature is also super cool, it's great to have a little bit of extra creative control over the contrast to really give my images those film vibes that I love. If you are a fan of vintage photos then the new black and white preset will be your go to, trust me when I say it's amazing. I can see myself using this set a lot, thank you once again Archipelago for creating such a stunning set!!"

"Wow, ok. So this special edition ExFilm Quest pack is so so good. It's no secret that I love ExFilm. It's one of the most unique looking packs that have been put out by Archipelago. And you can get so many styles of looks from it. One of the great things about the ExFilm look is its classic fade and its awesome selection for cool and warm looks. ExFilm SE has the same great versatility though, instead of starting with the classic faded look, you can add as little or as much as you would like yourself. Which I honestly think most users will prefer. Now, I'm going to say something that will contradict everything I've said in past reviews. Which is I love the warm hues of AQ10 01. I typically find myself always preferring the cooler toned versions of the presets. I'm a huge fan of vibrant blues in contrast of warm tones. But the overall warm tone of AQ10 01 is perfect. If I need to add any 'cool' look I can head to the HSL panel and bring blues back."
